Sisters at Heart

A poem for Visiting Teaching

God gave us sisters, to help us on our way,

He knew we would need support everyday.

Some sisters are blood, raised together from youth,

Yet others are met along our path towards truth.

We are, all of us unique, with different burdens to bear.

Yet despite our diversity we’ve no need to despair.

The Lord saved us all, went where no other could tread,

And the gift of His atonement is our one common thread.

We may find our struggles seem harder each day,

But if you lean on me we can both find our way.

We don’t need to be identical to know a sister’s in pain,

We have felt His love, His love for you and we feel the same.

So, we beg -we implore -we ask you sincerely…

When struggles take hold- call us, because we love you dearly.
