Pearls of Friendship

Do you know how a pearl is formed?

How it comes to be?

It all starts with a grain of sand,

An oyster, and the sea.

The sand lands in the oyster

And then the magic starts.

The oyster begins its work

To create this piece of art.

Layer upon layer

The pearl starts to grow,

Each day, a bit larger

Each day a bit more glow.

And so it goes on growing,

It’s quite a miracle to see,

A glorious, luminous beauty

Created through sand and sea.

Pearls are so like friendships,

They start out small, unsure.

But over time they grow

Becoming strong and pure.

I’m so grateful for your friendship,

For the moments that we’ve shared.

For the words and deeds of love

That let me know you cared.

I want you to know that I love you

And whether we’re near or apart

I’ll always cherish those moments

And keep you close, within my heart.
